Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu is dead.
Governor Akeredolu reportedly died in the early hours of Wednesday while receiving treatment at a Lagos hospital.
According to a family source who made the disclosure, the governor’s death follows a long battle with Leukaemia.
Recall that the Governor Akeredolu had recently obtained a second leave of absence and transferred power to his deputy, Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
This was even as the governor had only in September, returned from a three-month medical leave in Germany and proceeded to run the governing of Ondo State from his home in Ibadan – an attempt that birthed a public outcry and eventually attracted President Tinubu’s intervention.
Governor Rotimi Akeredolu continued to suffer a deteriorating health which eventually led him to take another leave of absence.
