Founder of DAAR Communications, Raymond Dokpesi is dead

Founder of DAAR Communications and Chairman of the African Independent Television, AIT, Raymond Dokpesi has died.

Dokpesi reportedly died in a medical facility in Nigeria’s capital city, Abuja at the age of 71.

He was said to have suffered a stroke shortly after the recent Ramadan fast and had been managing his health since.

A source reveals that Dokpesi was eventually placed on occupational therapy to improve his daily activities through working out at the gym.

In 2020, Raymond Dokpesi and members of his family were hospitalized at the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital after they were diagnosed with COVID-19. They, however, survived the disease.

Before his death on Monday, Dokpesi was a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and was the deputy Director-General of technical and systems of Atiku Abubakar’s latest Presidential Campaign Council.
