With less than 72hours to his swearing-in as Nigeria’s president, some Nigerians have outrightly rejected Bola Ahmed Tinubu as their president with the hastag, #TinubuIsNotMyPresident.

Tinubu who was declared winner of the 2023 presidential election under the aegis of the All Progressives Congress APC, is scheduled to be sworn in as Nigeria’s next president on May 29 2023.

But causing a buzz on social media on Friday, some agrieved Nigerians have taken sides to say that the president-elect is not their president by repeatedly retweeting the hashtag #TinubuIsNotMyPresident on microblogging website, Twitter.

While the hashtag has birthed mixed reactions from several tweeps, some Nigerians still believe that the elections which produced Tinubu as president was rigged and should hence be challenged in court just as Peter Obi of the Labour Party has been doing.

Reacting to a tweet by @PIDOMNIGERIA, which read “Tinubu is not my president. #TinubuIsNotMyPresident How many retweets can this get. Let this hashtag go viral,” @BrightVinChi wrote,

“He can never be even if INEC sold our election we will never accept him as our president.”

PastorDavidObinna also wrote,

“No one is and should be above the law… illegality cannot be legitimized!!! We can’t accept who we didn’t vote.”

However, taking sides with the President-Elect, @Damrealconcept wrote,

“If you like go to Canada! U no fit pack ur generation comot for Nigeria, no matter how rich you are! Tinubu is Nigeria president, if you like shout from now till tomorrow, everything is turn by turnWe all gonna wait for Tinubu turn to be over🫶.”
