Following Thursday’s bump of a train and a staff bus in the Ikeja area of Lagos state, 32 patients have been discharged according to a statement by the Lagos state commissioner for health, Prof Akin Abayomi.
Prof Abayomi who made the disclosure during a press conference held at the Lagos state university teaching hospital (LASUTH) on Friday, said that there were 102 victims recorded.
He added that “On Thursday, voluntary blood of 256 units was received from Lagos state residents while 40 units of blood had been transferred for use by the victims today.”

The Lagos state commissioner for health further emphasized that the number of fatality remains six, while eight victims have been discharged from Orile – Agege general hospital, five from the state accident and emergency center at old toll gate and nineteen from LASUTH.
Abayomi stated that 25 victims who were not severely injured were transferred to four of their general hospitals which includes; Gbagada general hospital, the oll gate accident and emergency center, Lagos island General hospital and Orile Agege General Hospital adding that he went to visit them just after he finished from LASUTH and that they were sound and responding to treatment.
“Some of them would be discharged today,” he added.
