Popular Microblogging website and social media platform, Twitter has allegedly suspended the account of Nigerias’ first lady Aisha Buhari over fake news.

Radiojagaban learnt on Wednesday that Aisha Buhari’s verified Twitter account had been suspended by the social media platform in line with it’s policies against the spread of fake news.

Sharing the update on Wednesday evening, a twitter user identified as @OLAdeyforyou, tweeted a screenshot of a search on the account of the president’s wife which revealed that her account had been suspended.

Sharing the photo, @OLAdeyforyou wrote:

“Twitter suspends Nigeria’s First Lady, Aisha Buhari over fake news. It is getting more interesting, let’s go😂”

Recall that on Tuesday, the president’s wife had tweeted a Press Release alleged to have originated from the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, a claim she later debunked blaming hackers of intruding on her account.

However, reacting to the suspension of her account Wednesday evening, a tweeter user, @Hampojnr wrote:

“CBN was still busy saying they’d fish out the purveyor and I wonder who the h€ll the purveyor is. SMH.”
