Famous South African rapper Kiernan Jarryd Forbes, also known as AKA is dead, according to the Leadership newspaper.
According to the report, AKA was shot and killed on Friday night in Durban alongside his close friend while his body guard was injured in a drive-by shooting that took place outside the Wish Restaurant on Florida Road.
It was gathered that the rapper was planning to celebrate his birthday at the YUGO nightclub in Stamford Hill that evening.
AKA was born and raised in Cape Town and rose to prominence with the release of his single “Victory Lap,” which was featured on his debut album Altar Ego in 2011.
He also gained followership in Nigeria owing to the release of his hit single “Fela in Versace.”
