Born to a family of five, Faith Oyita was born in 1998 to her humble parents who lived in the North-bank area of Makurdi, the Benue State capital where her father was a shoemaker and her mother a petty trader.
Like many other children of her age, Faith who is the first child of her parents began to hawk at the age of eight. At the close of each school day, little Faith would go to her mother in the market where she would pull off her school uniform and melt into the market to hawk. At night, she hawked sachet water around the neighborhood.
