After several years of alleged enmity between two of Africa’s biggest musical artistes, history is about to be made as Wizkid anounces joint musical tour with Davido.
Via an update on his Instagram story On Wednesday, January 18, 2023, Wizkid made the surprise announcement throwing fans in awe.
In the post on his Instagram story, Wizkid stated that “After my ‘MLLE (More Love, Less Ego) tour!! Davido and I going on tour! save your coins! I no wan hear pim”.
The announcement comes as a surprise as fans never saw it coming.
Recall that the last time Wizkid and Davido shared the stage was at Wizkid’s 2017 December Concert where he brought Davido out as a special guest to perform ‘FIA’.
However, in January 2022, both superstars were spotted in a viral video dancing barely just a step away from each other in a club in Ghana- a situation which stirred lots of reaction online while many thought was a sign of their reunion which was expected to occur not long after the meeting.
But Davido and Wizkid did not raise any headlines again until in November 2022 when Wizkid postponed the release of his 5th studio album ‘More Love, Less Ego’ following the loss of Davido’s son.
The gesture was applauded by fans who admired the show of respect and support.
Following Wizkids’ latest disclosure, fans have expressed eagerness to again see two of Africas’ biggest Acts share a stage.
The cost of seeing Wizkid and Davido together is however, not going to be cheap as Wizkid has advised fans to save their ‘coins’.
At any rate, a joint tour from the two will be a historic moment for Nigerian and African music.
