“60% of Anambra”: Peter Obi Accused Of Lying To Propagate His Candidacy

Presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi was on Sunday, dragged by netizens over comments he made during an interview in the United Kingdom (UK) which caused a twitter trend with the tag “60% of Anambra.”

Mr Peter Obi, while speaking to newsman during a questions and answers session had spoken about his achievements and contributions to Anambra State during his tenure as Governor.

Amongst the many achievements the former governor and presidential candidate highlighted, was bringing a certain company to invest in the state.

He explained that an agreement was signed between the Anambra state government and the international company which states that 60% of the company’s workers would be indigenes of the state.

He further stated that the said company today, is the highest tax payer in the state.

However, while trying to reiterate his point, the former governor was heard saying the company employs “60% of Anambra indigenes.”

This caused a stir as netizens from the opposition camp held unto the statement thereby accusing him of lying.

Obidients were also armed with words to defend their favourite.
