ASUU Suspends Strike:

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has suspended it’s eight months old strike, Radiojagaban has gathered.

Chairman of the body, Professor Emmanuel Osodeke made this known in a statement released Friday, at the end of the unions’ NEC meeting which began on Thursday night.

ASUU had called for a NEC meeting following the court of Appeals order that the body suspends it’s industrial action on or before October 17th, 2022, before its appeal of the ruling ordering lecturers to resume work can be heard.

Members of the union’s National Executive Committee, which comprises the chairmen of the state chapters and members of the national executive, attended the meeting at the ASUU National Secretariat in Abuja.

ASUU therefore resolved to suspend it’s long-drawn-out strike which the union embarked upon since February 14th, 2022.

A statement by the Unions’ Chairman further directed it’s members to resume all activities taking effect from 12:00AM 14th October, 2022.
