Malawian authorities arraign Chinese man for rape of 15-year-old
Malawian authorities have arrested and arraigned a Chinese national, Zhou Zheng Zhong, 48, for raping a 15-year-old girl.

The parents of the 15-year-old girl work for the Chinese national as cleaners, Malawi times reports.
The Chinese national appeared before a Magistrate’s Court in Lilongwe, on Monday.
State lawyer, Assistant Superintendent of Lingadzi Police, Davison Banda, told the court that the victim was tested at the hospital and results were not out.
Banda, therefore, asked the court to adjourn hearing of the case for seven days in order to conclude the investigations.
The Chinese national who applied for a bail was rejected by the Chief resident Magistrate’s Court.
The court ruled that Zheng Zhong could prejudice police investigations as the victim’s parents work for him.
The court, therefore, adjourned the case to 27 September, 2022.
