Identified as Chuks Ikenna, the deceased reportedly killed himself, Friday September 16th after he discovered that his girlfriend was pregnant for another man.
A source, John Adeleye, who claimed to know the deceased said, Mr Ikenna was devastated when he found out that his girlfriend was cheating.
“Chuks found out his lover had cheated on him and was pregnant. He was devastated by the news. There was confusion over who the father was”, he said.
Mr Adeleye added that “He (Ikenna) jokingly told people that he would kill himself because of the incident, but they never took him seriously. An empty bottle of “otapiapia” was found beside his corpse, as well as a suicide note.”
Radiojagaban gathered that, Ikenna’s girlfriend has however, been devastated by the sad incident while the deceaseds’ corpse has been taken to Suleja General Hospital morgue.
Lately, suicide has become rife in Nigeria with people, sometimes committing it over minor issues, with the use of chemicals.
In an attempt to curb the alarming rate of suicide, NAFDAC, in 2019, banned the production of smaller packs of Sniper over its affordability and ease of access for suicide victims.
