Suspected Herdsmen unleash Mayhem On Benue Communities

Gunmen suspected to be herdsmen have killed four people in separate attacks on two communities identified as Yogbo and Ukohol in Guma Local Government Area of Benue State.

During the attacks which occured over the weekend, four people were reportedly killed; three people at Yogbo community while one was killed at Ukohol community.

The attackers also burnt many houses in the villages that were attacked as residents of the affected communities have fled.

The Guma Local Government Chairman, Hon. Mike Ubah, has confirmed the attacks.

Ubah told journalist that “Four people were killed. Three of them at Yogboh while the remaining one was killed at Ukohor within the said period,”

Radiojagaban has gathered that nine people were reportedly killed in separate attacks in the same Guma LGA by suspected herders in the past week.

Many Communities in Benue State have been under attack by suspected Fulani herdsmen for about 8 years with many lives and properties lost.
