Jilted Adamawa man sets Ex-lover ablaze
The Adamawa State Police command has arrested a jilted Adamawa man for setting his ex-lover ablaze.
The incident occurred on 6th September, 2022.
The jilted Adamawa man, Ibrahim Muhammadu, who hails from Gadawaliwol in Jabbi Lamba, Girei Local Government Area, is said to have been dating the deceased, before she jilted and got married to another man.
Angered by the action of the woman, the suspect got one Ibrahim Savanna, and paid him ₦5,000 and four mudus of rice to set fire on her ex-lover and her husband, police said.
Armed himself with petrol, Savanna, who is now on the run, went to the house of the couple at night, locked the house from the outside, and committed the crime.
According to reports, the woman has died of severe burns, while the man is still battling for his life at a clinic in the state.
Radiojagaban gathered from different sources that, Ibrahim had fallen in love with the deceased, and had spent about ₦150,000 on her after she agreed to marry him.
However, the deceased decided to dump him for another man to whom she eventually got married about two weeks ago, before they were set ablaze.
According to the Adamawa State Police Spokesman, SP Suleiman Nguroje, Ibrahim has been arrested while efforts are being made to arrest Savanna, who was paid to carry out the act.
The state PPRO added that the matter is still being investigated.
