How thieves broke into liquor Shop, drank alcohol and became drunk

Indian Police officers have arrested two thieves who broke into a liquor shop to steal and ended up drinking alcohol in the premises.

The incident occurred in Thiruvallur district, Tamil Nadu State in Southern India.

The two thieves identified as Satish, a resident of Pallikaranai and Muniyan, who hails from Viluppuram, broke into the government-run Tasmac liquor shop at Kavaraipettai after it closed for business.

The duo made a large hole in the wall to enter the shop with the intention of stealing goods.

The thieves, who are lovers of alcohol, on getting there, decided to drink the alcohols before leaving the shop with the goods they had packed.

However, they drank much of the alcoholic drinks and passed out only to be waken up and arrested by a police patrol team.

The policemen woke up the suspects and asked them to come out via the same hole they created to access the shop.

According to the police, they also recovered Rs 14,000, an amount equivalent to ₦74, 000, in cash from the two thieves.

The Police added that the duo have confessed to commiting the crime adding that their intention was to steal the goods and sell.

In India, alcohol consumption by men is very high in states of the Southern and Northern part of the country.
