Police arrest suspects for alleged gang-rape of 18-Year-Old in Ogun

The Ogun state police Command has arrested a commercial motorcyclists and three other suspects for alleged gang-rape of an 18-year-old Ogun girl at Ogijo, Sagamu Local Government Area of Ogun State.

According to reports, the unfortunate incident happened when the young girl boarded a commercial motorcycle at about 8:00 am from the MRI company area to Ogijo bus stop.

However, on the way going, the Okada man, who carried another male passenger with her suddenly diverted to another route, with the other male passenger threatening to kill her if she struggled with them.

The two young men forcefully took her to a room in one house in the area, where two other men were waiting for them.

According to Ogun State PPRO, Abimbola Oyeyemi, when they arrived the room, two men were in the room.

The duo in the room, together with those who brought her, took turns to have canal knowledge of her.

The victim, however, managed to reach the Ogijo Police division where she reported the ugly incident.

Upon receipt of the report, the DPO of Ogijo Division, CSP Onatufe Umoh, swung into action and got two of the suspects arrested while the other fled.

The state’s PPRO, Abimbola Oyeyemi, identified the arrested suspects as, Emmanuel Thompson and Joshua Godwin.

The spokesman also added that “the two arrested suspects have confessed to the commission of the crime.”

The Commissioner of Police in the state, Lanre Bankole, has ordered the transfer of the two suspects to the State CIID for further investigation and diligent prosecution, he said.

Meanwhile, Bankole has also directed that the fleeing suspects be hunted for and brought to book to face consequences of their lousy deed.
