The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU are set to announce their decision on the current ongoing strike that has lasted for almost 7 months.
The union will hold a conference meeting at 10:00am today and make the announcement.
The National Executive Committee of the union held a meeting yesterday, 28th August, which lasted for about 5 hours.
The meeting was aimed at suspending the ongoing strike or resolving to a total and indefinite strike.
The president of the union, Professor Emmanuel Osedeke spoke to journalists after the meeting and revealed that the union will announce it’s decision today, 29th August 2022.
The president in his words when asked if students should be expecting a suspension of the strike said, “I don’t know, they will know tomorrow”
There are speculations that the strike is bound to continue.
