A Niger State Magistrates’ Court sitting in Minna, has transferred the rape case against an Assistant Head Teacher of Central Primary School, Karabonde, Alhaji Usman Galadima.
The 48-year old teacher, said to be HIV positive, was arrested after he allegedly sexually molested 14 pupils in the school was teaching.
Alhaji Usman, who had been molesting the pupils was exposed when some of the pupils he molested mastered courage and reported him to the school authority.
According to sources, two female pupils of the school, within the ages of 7-9 went to the office of the headmistress of the school, Hajiya Maimunat Tanko, and told her that Alhaji Usman had raped them.
The pupils also told Hajiya Maimunat that Alhaji Usman threatened to kill them should they tell anybody about it.
On receiving the complaint, Hajiya Maimunat, immediately took the matter to the headmaster of the school, Mallam Abdullahi Toure.
The headmaster who was shocked, called the accused to his office and asked him about the accusation which he denied and was freed.
However, 2 weeks later, another set of girls, from grade 2 and 3, still went to the office of Hajiya Maimunat and made a similar report.
Worried by several allegations of sexual molestation against Alhaji Usman Galadima, the school management quickly formed a disciplinary committee to look into the matter.
As the committee began their investigation, they were not less than shocked as more pupils came forward to make a similar complaint against the grade two teacher.
Radiojagaban gathered that, after the traditional authorities and others were involved, Alhaji Usman, agreed that he raped only 5 of the pupils, while he kissed others and asked them to play with his manhood.
His statement was, however, not completely far from what some of the pupils said.
The pupils reportedly told the committee that Usman Galadima raped some of them, while he only kissed others and asked them to play with his manhood.
The pupils also said he asked them to open their legs so he could see their panties.
Through the investigation of the committee, they were informed that, Usman Galadima also asked them to bring their mother’s pants so he could see them.
When the case came up in court this week, the prosecutor, Inspector Jibril Ahmed, told the court that the case had to start afresh following the transfer of the Judge, Hajiya Sa’adatu Gambo.
