Man jailed for killing girlfriend

The Adamawa State judge, Justice Nathan Musa has sentenced one Wakil Mohammed to five years in prison without an option of a fine.

Wakil, who is a dismissed military officer was arrested by the police when he murdered his 23-year-old girlfriend, Patience Amos, in her rented apartment at Damilu community in Yola North LGA of the state.

Radiojagaban has gathered that the deceased was the daughter of the Chief Driver of Adamawa Press Limited in Yola, and was just recruited in the Nigeria army when she was killed.

The convict smashed her head and locked her in the room where she struggled and finally died unnoticed to anyone.

She was discovered by neighbors when she started decomposing.

While making his statement to the police, the convict said he smashed her head when she rained insult on him.

Wakil also admitted that he locked up the deceased in the room and walked away despite the fact that she was crying and shouting, Fabulous,’ ‘Fabulous, which is his nickname.

After the prosecutor established that the convict actually murdered his girlfriend and following his admittance of committing the crime, Justice Nathan Musa, therefore, sentenced him to five years in prison sans an option of a fine.

He, however, said that the sentence will start running from the first date of the convict’s remand which was 15th of February 2020.
