Court sentences pastor to death for ritual killing
An Ikeja Special Offences Court has sentenced to death, Pastor Erinmole Adetokunbo and Adedoyin Oyekanmi, who cut off the head of a seven-year-old boy, Kazeem Rafiu, buried it on a church altar and threw the body into a canal.
The two men murdered, Kazeem Rafiu, on June 7, 2017, at No 6, Oke Oniburokun Street, Odokekere, Ikorodu, Lagos State.
The two were first arraigned on October 30, 2017, on the two-count charge of conspiracy to commit murder and murder to which they initially pleaded not guilty, but later pleaded guilty.
Delivering judgement, Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo, held that the two defendants committed a heinous crime and deserve no mercy.

Taiwo said the two cruelly and intentionally killed the seven-year-old boy, thus depriving him and his family of a bright destiny, a crime which according to section 222 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State attracts death penalty as punishment.
The judge, therefore, sentenced them to death and asked God to have mercy on their souls.
