Police arrests man in Lagos for drugging and robbing women of belongings in hotels

Police officers of the Surulere Division of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested a 34-year-old man, Ifeanyi Odieze Ezenagu, for allegedly drugging and robbing six women of six iPhones valued at N4 million.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the incident happened on Tuesday at Falolu Street, Surulere, Lagos.

The suspect robbed the women of their three iPhones 12, two iPhones 11 Pro Max, one iPhone XR, one Nokia phone, one wristwatch and one gold necklace, with a total value of N2,368,000, after he lured them to a hotel, where he laced their drinks, resulting in their falling into a deep slumber.

According to one of the victims, Ifeanyi, who invited them for an outing offered them a drink which they took around 7: 00 pm and slept.

She said, when they woke up around 1:00 am, they discovered that their properties were not with them and the suspect was also not around.

She added that Mr ifeanyi withdrew the sum of N50,000 from the account of one of them with the ATM he stole while the phones were sent to Onitsha through waybill and sold for N900,000.

NAN gathered that Mr Ifeanyi specialised in drugging and robbing women of their phones and other valuables.

According to Lagos Police Spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin, investigations reveal that Ifeanyi has no fixed address, but lures women to different hotels where he drugs and robs them clean.

Investigations further shows that he has robbed over thirty women since he ventured into this crime.

According to Police, the suspect will be arraigned at the end of the investigation.
