Benue born singer, Slikish reply critics after mixed reactions trailed his call for support from fans to pioneer a “Kishpaddies project.”

Slikish had made a post on Sunday asking that each of his twenty six thousand Facebook followers send one thousand naira into his access bank account, a donation which supposedly would sum up to N26m.

In a now deleted post, the singer wrote,

“Happy Sunday kishpadis! So I have about 26k followers on this app and if the 26k followers would credit my account with just 1k each and we would realize twenty six million Naira (26,000,000). Wow that’s crazy! Oya let’s try it and putting it on a kishpadis project.💚🙌 0038831352 Emberga Peter access bank”

However, the singers’ request which appeared similar to Davido’s N1m request from each of his friends on his birthday early this year, didn’t go down well with some Kishpaddies thus, invoking some mixed reactions.

Hours after some heated arguments under his post, Slikish via another Facebook post (now deleted), reacted to some concerns raised in the comments section and which were obviously not in his favour.

The singer stated that his request was intentional and that it was only a means he employed in order to find a soft ground to educate the people against a common belief that “Tiv people don’t go fr in the music industry.”

He wrote,

“If you don’t have money oo it’s fine! But saying this is a bad idea it’s a no no for me! Ask your self that as a fan from Benue, how do you add value to your celebrities? Musicians make money from streaming but how many Benue people stream music? Musicians make money from shows but how much do the show promoters in Benue pay musicians? Especially the musicians from Benue!”

“Later they will say Tiv people don’t go far in the music industry and these are the challenges they face. How do you expect them to excel when you don’t support them financially? Coz the whole industry is money oriented.

“So contributing money to support your celebrities should be a thing of pride and not applying the same negative energy you applied for the ones you insult today that they didn’t make it but only came back to stay home in Benue.

I purposely posted this so I will educate some of you and change the narrative of Tiv people don’t go far in the music industry. Coz every big celebrity you know today has become that through the money they make from their fans. So think before you talk pls.”

Meanwhile, in a live video earlier, Slikish lamented lack of financial support for Benue artistes while expressing optimism that if only one out of the many would break out, it would be a win for all.

Na so e be o!
